7 Tips for Achieving Beautiful Cat-Eye Eyeliner like Supermodels

Unlike other eye makeup styles, cat-eye attracts girls with its sharpness at the tail of the eye that is flicked up and perfectly lined to fit the frame of the eye. To create a cat-eye, you can’t use round-tipped pencil eyeliners because they lack the absolute accuracy in the flicked-up line. And the sharpness is also missing. As difficult as it is, girls still love the cat-eye look and desire to create mesmerizing eyes with various tricks.

1. Use stiff cards:

Bank cards, business cards… can all be used in this tip. You use the stiff edge of the card to hold it close to the end of the flicked-up eye. Use eyeliner to line along the edge of the card to create a beautiful flicked-up wing. Then continue to use eyeliner to connect the existing line with the upper eyelid.

2. Retouch the eyes:

If your trembling hand is the culprit behind many uneven cat-eye looks when applying liquid eyeliner, then use an eyeliner pencil to handle the problem. You can use the eyeliner as you normally would, then retouch the lines with an eyeliner pencil. The pencil liner will prevent smudging.

3. Use tape:

You can use a strip of tape about 3 – 4 cm long and do the same as with the stiff cards. However, before sticking the tape on the corner of the eye, you can stick it first on the palm of your hand and press to make the adhesive less sticky to avoid irritation to the eyes.

4. Tilt your head:

When applying eyeliner, you can push your chin forward to see more clearly the lines you will draw on the flicked-up eye. Then use a cotton swab to dot wherever there is smudging to make the eye look rounder.

5. Freeze it:

Applying eyeliner could become a disaster if your pencil is soft and easy to smudge. Before you apply eyeliner, you can put your eyeliner pencil in the fridge for about 10 minutes to make the lead stiff, sharp, and easier to apply.

6. Dotting technique:

Instead of drawing a continuous line and easily slipping during the process, you can dot along the eye and then use an eyeliner pen to connect the dots.

7. Use a wet eyeliner pen:

You can quickly draw a beautiful cat-eye using a trick: Use a regular eyeliner pen to line along the eyelid, then dip an angled brush into water and stroke along the end of the eye to create a cute cat-eye wing.
